Admit it, we have all done something silly when celebrating sporting glory.

But have you ever nearly caused your favourite player injury through your celebration?

Well Newcastle United fan John West nearly did when he ran on the pitch to celebrate with goalscorer Aleksandr Mitrovic on Sunday.

In a heated Tyne-Wear derby which ended 1-1, the Newcastle striker headed home an equaliser late on to win his team a point against their relegation rivals.

As the Serbian celebrated his goal, West ran onto the pitch to celebrate but slipped in front of the striker and sent him tumbling to the floor.

In the hilarious video below, you can see the two collide before finding their feet and hugging.

Luckily for West, Mitrovic was unhurt but the over excited fan received a banning order for his pitch invasion.

The 35 year-old is banned from entering St. James Park on an interim basis.

It’a small price to pay for the hilarious moment!
