Nigeria’s Football Federation has been fined $5,000 for overcrowding after over 40,000 fans turned up for their side’s fixture with Egypt.

The stadium in Kaduna is designed to only hold 16,000 spectators but almost treble the amount of supporters turned up for the 1-1 draw on March 25th.

The photo below, shows how desperate fans were to watch the fixture, with hundreds of them climbing upon structures to get the best view.

Although impressive, the photographs have caused Healthy and Safety executives to step in.

The worrying pictures come just days after the Hillsborough disaster case finally came to a close.

Nigeria have been warned over possible further sanctions if similar incidents occur.
