Dog-Surfing

Dog surfing

Dog surfing is precisely what the name suggests – dogs surfing! Originating in 1920s California, the competition includes tandem surfing, where 2 or more dogs, or a dog and a human, surf together on one surfboard.

In June 2012 a Guinness World Record of 18 dogs surfing on one board was set.

Cheese rolling is an annual event in Gloucestershire, England. From the top of a hill in the village of Brockworth, a 9lb round of Double Gloucester cheese is rolled, and competitors race down the hill after it. The first person to pass the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins the round of cheese!

The cheese can reach speeds of up to 70 mph, and in 1993 15 people were injured, 4 seriously, during the competition.
