Starting on the Monday following the 2014 AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, the sports scandal known as Deflategate stretched on for an incredible 544 days.
That all came to an end recently when quarterback Tom Brady decided not to continue the court case ensuing from the scandal all the way to the United States Supreme Court.
Still, 544 days is an incredibly long time, and a lot happened during that period. Here’s what you missed if you were stuck under a Deflategate-sized rock for the past year and a half:
1. New England Patriots Win the Super Bowl
The morning after the AFC Championship game between the Patriots and the Colts, the whole Deflategate fiasco began to unfold. Only two weeks later, the Patriots went on to defeat the Seattle Seahawks in dramatic fashion.
2. Denver Broncos Win the Super Bowl
After having his suspension overturned by the courts, Tom Brady went on a tear throughout the 2015 season. Ultimately, though, they fell to the Broncos at Mile High Stadium, paving the way for Peyton Manning to cap off his career with a Super Bowl win.
