The Summer Olympics in Rio are well underway, and all ready tons of sports history has been made!
While we could spend plenty of time talking about the accolades of people like Simone Biles and Michael Phelps, we thought it would be more fun to take a look back through Olympic history.
Doing so can only help us to better appreciate the feats of heroic strength that are taking place before our very eyes each and every day…
1. Derek Redmond Tears His Hamstring
While competing in the 400-meter, Derek Redmond, who’d been considered the favorite in the race, tore his hamstring. Still, he finished the race, with his own father coming down form the stands to help him toward the finish line.
2. Michael Phelps and Gold
What more can be said or written about Michael Phelps that hasn’t already been said or written? “Not much,” is the answer. So we’ll just say “23 gold medals” and leave it at that…
