Mike Richards And Jeff Carter
When two high profile players for the Philadelphia Flyers get traded together, it doesn’t take long for the reason to come out. It turns out that the Flyers, who had a reputation for hard partying, were told to clean up their act by new head coach Peter Laviolette who introduced a policy called ‘dry island’ where each player would write their jersey numbers on a locker room list saying that they would abstain from partying for a month at a time. Richards and Carter never once put their numbers on the list and they were traded after a mini locker room revolt.
He may well be a well respected NHL executive now, but when he was at the St. Louis Blues, a somewhat public feud with coach Mike Keenan and a less than discreet affair with the wife of teammate Craig Janney almost destroyed the Blues’ locker room.
