Ronnie O’Sullivan – Snooker
Another sport which doesn’t spring to mind when you mention the word ‘athlete’ is that of professional snooker. However, the pressure involved in keeping your head together during matches which can last for hours must be terrible and that alone must put extreme pressure on the players. O’Sullivan has been described as one of the most natural players in the game and one of the best in the world, ever, having won the world championship 5 times. However, all the pressure of the game has seen him in clinics being treated for depression.
Bobby Zamora – Soccer
Despite playing for West Ham, Fulham and Tottenham, as well as winning two caps for his country Zamora has been quite out spoken about his lack of love for the game and has even gone as far as to say that there are many professional players who do it as a job, rather than something they love.
