Marco had already played domestic soccer in soccer in Bolivia, Chile and Colombia when he signed to D.C. United in 1996, a time when MLS was far from being the strong league it is today. Juan Pablo Angel
Angel headed state-side when he was 32 and was signed to New York Red Bulls from the English Premiership club, Aston Villa. He obviously made the MLS Best XI in his first season, scoring 19 goals in 24 games, and scored a total of 58 goals in 102 games for the Red Bulls.
