With Super Bowl 50 just days away, like all football fans we are trying to predict the outcome ahead of Sunday’s championship game.

After an impressive 15-1 record in the 2015 season, Carolina Panthers are obvious favourites, with the bookmakers offering odds of 2/5.

With the Denver Broncos in their way, the Panthers will need to be at their best to win their first Super Bowl in their history.

Like all sport, on the one-off occasion anything can happen, but here are the 5 reasons why we feel the Panthers will be crowned champions this weekend.

1. Riverboat Ron

In 2015, Head coach Ron Rivera has proved he can make big decisions in key moments of a match.

Rivera,  who won Super Bowl XX as a Chicago Bears player will be looking to end a fantastic year on a high.

2.  Cam Newton

With 35 touchdowns in the 2015 season, Cam Newton has been arguably the league’s most influential player.

Since his rookie season in 2011, Newton has slowly proven that he has the potential to become one of NFL’s greats.

A first Super Bowl ring on Sunday will certainly help the 26-year-old do that.

3. Defense

NFL: DEC 20 Panthers at Giants

Away from the success of Cam Newton and his offensive game, Panthers’ defense has been brilliant this season.

Josh Norman, Luke Kuechley and Thomas Davis have shown real strength in 2015, and it will take an remarkable performance from Peyton Manning to break them down on Sunday.

4.  Greg Olsen

Yes, Cam Newton has taken all the headlines and rightly so, his accuracy has been superb this season.

But there needs to be someone their to catch his throws and Olsen has been there time and time again.

There is no doubt on current form, Olsen is one of the best tight-ends in the game.

5. Jonathan Stewart

Stewart is another player in the form of his life.

Despite only playing 13 games this season, Stewart has come into form just at the right time.

His performance in the play-offs against the Seahawks was a real highlight.

Finishing with 106 yards and two touchdowns, the 29-year-old will want another performance like that on Sunday.
