1994 Slam Dunk Contest

The Nuggets play-off run is one of the most famous stories in NBA history.

As eighth seeds in the play-offs they were forced to play Seattle Supersonics, but a stunning comeback saw them knock the favourite out.

They weren’t finished there, after losing the first three matches to Utah Jazz they won the following three to take the tie to Game 7.

They unfortunately lost in the end but their run is still remembered today as one the best.

6. 2007 Stanford Football Team

Stanford’s win over USC is still the biggest upset in the world of college football.

With a back-up QB and a poor defense many presumed the game in 2007 would be a foregone conclusion.

But against all the odds, Stanford came away with a narrow 24-23 win to book their place in history.
